A Colorful Take on Python

One stand out piece to add to your closet this fall season that will carry through spring 2013 and many years thereafter is the luxuriously edgy Python .  Well it’s not like exotic material is a stranger to fashion these days but Ekatrina seems to make me swoon for that fiery look even more.  Designer Cathy Lee not only infused a pop of colors to python but she’s mixed in a blend of textures to fuel my obsession for her handbags even more!  Absolutely loving the collection!

REBECCA MINKOFF SP12 MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK

It is that time again!  How is Rebecca Minkoff going to top the last fashion show? With this one of course!  Here are the true to form RM looks for Spring, and exclusive, celebrity clad access to the BACKSTAGE and AFTER PARTY.  You know by now that Rebecca Minkoff is a driving force in the fashion scene…..and will be for a very very long time….

 

REBECCA MINKOFF FW11 MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK

 

 We are so thrilled to see Rebecca’s smashing success with her very first Mercedes-Benz runway show at the Lincoln Center on February 11, 2011.  Hundreds of fashionistas showed up, and the review have been outstanding.

The Fall 2011 apparel collection is inspired by Charlotte Kemp Muhl, who is known for her effortless street style and her relationship with Sean Lennon.  The couple, known as The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, performed at the show.  As Rebecca’s interview with WSJ blog revealed that she ”used Ms. Kemp Muhl’s multi-faceted career as inspiration. ‘She’s a singer, a songwriter, she’s a musician. She’s also a model,’ Ms. Minkoff said. ‘What girl secretly doesn’t want to have that rock ‘n roll lifestyle?’ “

The collection is a mix of ’70s rock n roll glam, with modern feminine silhouette.  Soft fabrics, slouchy sweaters, furs, tonal jackets and skinny jeans captured the essence of the cool girl in Rebecca. 

Last but not least of course we won’t forget the handbags that put RM as a household name.  The bags followed the same vibe – feminine, lady-like, and smaller in size compared to the mega-bags day a year ago.  A very refreshing collection indeed!

Ekatrina Gallery Opening in Seoul, Korea

As we know, Cathy Lee from Ekatrina has everything going for her.  From professorship, publishing, her very own handbag and jewelry line, and mingling with who’s who at cool parties.  What else does she need?  Well, she opened a gallery to showcase the brand’s full line in Seoul just last month.  One of our very own Asia Manager, Wendy, was there.  She loved the collection and the showing!  Here is the slide show, your very own glimpse into Ekatrina’s gallery…..
